Canopies and Walkways
We have a range of canopies for the education sector. If a structure from a standard range does not fit your needs, we can install one that is made to measure in a variety of styles.

Frameworks
Canopies can be supported by either a steel or timber framework. Steel frames are available in either a painted or galvanised finish; timber frames come from a sustainable source and treated with a preservative.

Roof Coverings
We offer two types of roof covering; a PVC fabric with an expected life of 8 years and a triple wall polycarbonate with an expected life of 15 years. Both coverings are translucent and provide a light, airy environment under the canopy.

UV Transmission and fire protection
Both fabric and polycarbonate reduce UV transmission by at least 95% and meet appropriate British Standard requirements for fire protection.

Installation
All canopies and walkways are available fully installed, including foundations.

Planning Permission and Building Regulations
All canopies (not just ours) will normally require planning permission. Don’t worry, Portland will take care of dealing with plans, local authorities and architects etc. In other words we do everything from start to finish.
